The group needed an identity that expressed youth empowerment, speaking up, taking action, and resiliency, while connecting to Alaska. Together with the students, the solution was found by symbolizing the concept as a megaphone with a lightning bolt in the Alaska state colors. Empowering Youth Voice To End Bullying is a student-led initiative created by Spirit of Youth, Anchorage Youth Vote, and other community partners. Their mission is to build inclusive environments free from bullying in Alaska, so all of Alaska’s youth are included, heard, and empowered.
